Let’s be honest: a burst infrared lamp is a nightmare. When a tube pops during a high-load run, you aren’t just looking at some downtime. You’re looking at quartz shards and chemical gunk raining down on your wafers. It’s a mess, it’s expensive, and it’s a headache nobody wants. That’s why we build our clean room heaters with a “worst-case scenario” mindset. The Safety Net We don’t just trust the quartz tube to hold it together. We wrap the whole thing in a secondary containment sleeve. Think of it as an insurance policy. If the main lamp cracks from thermal shock or just gives up the ghost, the sleeve catches all the debris. Nothing drifts onto your wafers. Plus, it makes life easier—you can just swap out the inner lamp without having to scrub the entire chamber. Dealing with the Heat Pushing these lamps hard creates some brutal temperature swings. To keep things from cracking, we use high-purity fused quartz that can actually handle the expanding and contracting. We also chemically bond the electrodes so you don’t have to worry about gas leaks at the seals. But the real secret is the PID controllers. They keep a constant eye on the temperature.
